Klasy licealne naszej szkoły po raz kolejny miały okazję obejrzeć sztukę teatralną wystawioną przez TNT Theatre Britain pod auspicjami American Drama Group Europe.

Spektakl, zatytułowany My Sister Syria, autorstwa Paul’a Stebbings and Phil’a Smith przedstawił dramatyczną analizę obecnego kryzysu migracyjnego w Europie i jego korzeni na Bliskim Wschodzie. W związku z tym przedstawienie odbywało się zarówno w języku angielskim, jak i arabskim. Sztuka, będąca połączeniem thrillera i dokumentażu, skupiła się na stawianiu pytań miast udzielania odpowiedzi, starając się przybliżyć ten palący problem współczesnego świata szerszej widowni.

Nasi uczniowie mieli okazję nie tylko przetestować swoją znajomość języka angielskiego, lecz także poznać problemy współczesnej Syrii i spojrzeć na problem nielegalnych imigrantów z nieco innej perspektywy.

Our students had another chance to watch the American Drama Group Europe presenting TNT theatre Britain in MY SISTER SYRIA. The play is a combination of a thriller, immigration & the Roots of Terror by Paul Stebbings and Phil Smith.

The performance is a dramatic exploration of the current refugee crisis in Europe and its roots in the Middle East, a thriller and partly a drama documentary. The production aimed to ask questions rather than give answers, to appeal to a wide audience as well as to inform. The production used English and Arabic and gave our students a good chance, not only to check out our English competence, but also to get to know some basic Arabic expressions.

After watching the play, for sure they know more about contemporary Syria problems and daily lives of their inhabitants, not to mention the fact that it made it possible for them to look on today’s immigration crisis from another perspective.
